What is the
Bidboy?
The Bidboy is an automatic Bid Assistant, that automatically bids for you, even when you are away from your computer. It allows you set up a bidding strategy with starting and stopping prices.
How does it work?
You can learn how to set up a Bidboy by following these 3 easy steps.
Step 1. Pick an Auction
First go to the page of the Auction that you want to use with the Bidboy. Make sure that ...
  • You are logged in. The Bidboy will not appear, unless you are logged in.
  • You have at least 1 normal Bid or Bonusbid.
The Bidboy looks like this:
You can only create 1 Bidboy for each Auction. To start you need to input some values into the Bidboy. There are 3 values:
Start price. This is the price at which the Bidboy will join the bidding. The Bidboy will bid whenever the Auction fulfils the criteria you specified, and you are not the highest bidder.
End price. This is the price at which the Bidboy should stop. When the Auction reaches this price, the Bidboy will stop using Bids, and remove itself.
Maximum number of Bids. This is the maximum number of Bids that the Bidboy will use. Once it runs out of Bids, the Bidboy will stop using Bids and remove itself.
Shared Pool of Bids
The Bidboy takes its Bids from the same pool of Bids that you use for normal bidding. This means that, if you use all your Bids, the Bidboy will have no more Bids to use until you buy more Bidpacks.
These are the situations in which the Bidboy will stop.
Auction timer runs out. You won the auction! The Bidboy makes sure you are the highest bidder when the timer runs out, as long as it has enough bids and is within your limits.
End price is reached. If the end price is reached, the Bidboy will stop bidding and automatically remove itself. If someone bids higher you will no longer be top bidder
Maximum number of Bids used. If all the Bids that were allocated to the Bidboy are used up, then the Bidboy will stop and automatically remove itself.
Run out of Bids. If you do not have enough Bids or Bonusbids in your account to keep bidding, the Bidboy will stop and automatically remove itself.
You stop the Bidboy. You can remove the Bidboy at any time by clicking on the 'Stop Bidboy' button (see below).
